Delos Founder Discusses Wellness Real Estate™ with Deepak Chopra at the Fourth Annual Sages and Scientists Symposium
(New York, NY) — Last weekend, Paul Scialla, Founder and Managing Partner of Delos®, the pioneer of Wellness Real Estate™, spoke about the future of sustainability, wellness and global housing in real estate at the fourth annual Sages and Scientists Symposium in Carlsbad, California, which is organized annually by the Chopra Foundation.
Moderated by Deepak Chopra, the event brought together distinguished experts in science, business, healthcare, and humanity on an exploration into the intersection of science and spirituality. Presenters addressed humanity’s progress and difficulties in achieving a more peaceful, just and sustainable society.
At the prestigious symposium, Scialla presented Delos’ game changing Wellness Real Estate concept and spoke about the ways in which the company aims to revolutionize the real estate industry. “Delos has created a new model for health and wellness in the built environment,” said Scialla. “This effort is intended to fit within and complement the strong and important work of other sustainability initiatives, such as USGBC’s LEED program.”
In 2012, Delos introduced the WELL Building Standard™, the world’s-first building standard focused exclusively on enhancing people’s health and well-being in direct, evidence-based ways through the built environment. Each Delos structure is designed to combat the onset of disease and deteriorating health, dispel current ailments and improve one’s quality of life through innovative healthy living features. The standard is intended to be applied across all building types including homes, hotels, offices, schools, community centers and hospitals.
Joining Scialla in his presentation was Dolly Lenz, America’s top real estate agent with more than $8 billion in residential sales transactions. They shared their plans for the world’s-first WELL™ Certified residences at 66 East 11th Street in New York, as well as the industry’s growing interest in the wellness real estate movement.
Some of the other thought leaders to present at the conference included former President of Mexico Vincente Fox, media mogul Arianna Huffington, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Malaria Ray Chambers, civil rights icon Diane Nash, and Dr. Clarence B. Jones, professor, scholar writer, and former political advisor, counsel and draft speechwriter for the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
