Children’s Center

Children’s Center for Enfant Jesus (2013)

In fall 2013, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced plans to construct a LEED Certified and WELL Certified™ orphanage and children’s facility in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, with support from Delos as among the project’s lead funders. This project will house a health clinic, a training center to educate local women on women’s health issues, as well as housing for 25-30 orphaned children. By pursuing certification through the WELL Building Standard™, which Delos pioneered, the project will ensure that “this most vulnerable population in Haiti has access to the most current project thinking and technology for enabling the healthiest, most comfortable indoor environment.”

Following construction of the orphanage and children's center, Foundation Enfant Jesus — a nongovernment, nondenominational, apolitical charitable organization — will operate the center. The center’s mission is to provide for the immediate health and emotional needs of orphaned children and provide a pathway to adoption.
