Research-based innovations to transform our built environments
into vehicles for health and well-being.
into vehicles for health and well-being.
Evidence-based and data-driven
interdisciplinary research is at our core
We leverage knowledge from building and health sciences to produce innovative and practical solutions to create living spaces designed to improve health, well-being and performance. We conduct new research and development through strategic academic alliances, relationships with third-party subject matter experts and corporate R&D departments, as well as government-supported or funded entities.

The Well Living Lab was announced in 2014 in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic to study the impact of indoor environments on health and well-being. The platform brings together in-house experts in health sciences, behavioral science and building science to study how built environments affect five factors: health, stress and resiliency, performance, sleep and comfort. Participants interact within a sensor-rich, simulated real-world environment while scientists adjust elements such as sound, lighting, temperature and air quality. Collecting and analyzing behavioral and biometric reactions from thousands of data points, we identify correlations and practical applications to provide long-term health and wellness benefits to people and society. Delos offers integrated solutions,
targeting essential indoor environmental
elements as a whole system
Our research focuses on the passive but essential elements of indoor spaces, with a mission to deliver environments designed to improve human health and performance. While environmental changes can be imperceptible and subtle, they can impact our health and influence our behavior, helping to form healthier long-term habits. Indoor environmental elements are interconnected, and addressing them individually is not always effective. Delos offers integrated solutions, targeting essential indoor environmental elements as a whole system.
In addition to the behavioral and lifestyle choices we make on a daily basis – from physical activity to diet and sleep – the long term impact on our health is also determined by genetics, access to healthcare as well as social and physical environments. Our physical environments provide us with the essential elements of life: air, water, light, sound and thermal comfort. Unlike behaviors such as exercise that require active, conscious engagement, our relationship with these elements is intuitive – from breathing and hydrating ourselves to seeking light as well as acoustically and thermally comfortable spaces.
