Health and Well-Being in Homes, 2016

How do you know if your home is ‘healthy’? A recent report published jointly by the UK Green Building Council and World Green Building Council (2016) is helping readers answer this important question. The report identifies research-backed design guidelines that can be integrated into homes or neighborhoods in an effort to make them healthier.

For example, the report suggests integrating sensors into your home that monitor indoor conditions like air quality. These devices can alert you to significant environmental issues – such as high levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) – that may not be easily detectable.

The report also highlights real life examples with nine case studies including projects such as ARUP’s Wild West End and PRP’s Multi-generational house.
